ABOUT

I’m a lifelong Davis resident and proud graduate of Davis Senior High School. My wife, Nichole, and I live in North Davis with our three awesome children. We love our community and can’t imagine a better place to raise a family.

I’ve had the honor of serving our community on Davis City Council since 2016, and I am proud of my service to our community:

  • Chair, Woodland-Davis Clean Water Agency Joint Powers Authority
  • Former Chair, Yolo County Housing Authority
  • Board of Directors Member, Yolo Habitat Conservancy
  • Former President, Blue & White Foundation (which serves the students at Davis Senior High School)
  • Former Board of Directors Member, Summer House (which provides services for adults with developmental disabilities)
  • Volunteer Public Address Announcer, Davis Senior High School Football, Boys’ Basketball and Robotics Competitions
I currently serve as a Public Information Officer for Caltrans (where I’m a proud SEIU member). I’ve been politically active in Davis for many years, managing several local and regional campaigns, and working as the District Representative for State Senator Lois Wolk.

Priorities:

Z
Our city budget is now more secure, even in the face of our current economic challenges
Z
We have significantly invested in roads, bike paths, and other critical infrastructure
Z
We have increased housing inventory, and improved access to critical services
Z
We are working with staff, public safety, and community advocates to examine both policies and assumptions in order to become ever-more equitable and just

But that is not enough; there’s more to do. As Council members, we are tasked with addressing the immediate needs of our community as well as an uncertain future ahead:

Z
I’m dedicated to ensuring that all of our policies better reflect our deeply-held values: inclusivity, equity, integrity, and fairness. I I will continue my work to reimagine our community safety system in Davis, and work collaboratively with our community toward a new, sustainable approach to public safety.
Z
I will continue my strong advocacy for the health and safety of our community by building upon our ban of cancer-causing pesticides in our parks and greenbelts and move us toward full non-toxic land management.
Z
I will continue to work with our partners collaborative, sustainable approaches to increase affordable housing options and combat homelessness.
Z
I will continue my work with our business community to help build a collaborative and sustainable pathway for local businesses impacted by COVID-19. Local businesses are both our economic engine and an important part of our community personality and vitality.
Z
I will continue to move us toward a new, updated City of Davis General Plan by building upon the community-based Downtown Plan.
Z
I will continue to make significant investment in public infrastructure, including roads, bike paths, parks and public works infrastructure.
